Department of Outdoor activities is attached to the department of physical education, pedagogical faculty, University of Jana Evangelisty Purkyně.It is an academical facility, which is focused on education of specialists in the field of outdoor activities and research. Its function is cultivation in this field with setting main trends and directions of evalutation. The pieces of knowledge in the field of outdoor activities are applied to educational process corresponding with worldwide modern trends.

Our facility cooperates with significant Czech  and international institutions which are engaged in this problematics.It prepares programmes for various target groups with specialization according to tasks and requierement of  clients, for school groups, it realizes accredited courses and education training experts in the field of outdoor activities (cooperates with the Centre of lifelong learning at pedagogical faculty,  University of Jana Evangelisty Purkyně).

The department holds special actions (extensions), conferences (international conferences focused on problems of enjoyment, international conferences and seminars of kineziotherapy, kinanthropology conferences, summer school of experiential education and outdoor activities), which task is cultivation in this field.

Department of Outdoor activities publishes methodical publications, international periodical „Journal of Outdoor Activities“.

Department coordinates the process of unique bachelor degree „Outdoor activities“.

European project EEOSSS - Experiential Education and Outdoor Studies Summer School attended by 15 european universities.

Outdoor activities is  multidisciplinal and interdisciplinar branch, which includes outdoor motoric activities, environmental and ecology, social, spiritual and educational problems.  It is based on cross-curricular lapping which lead to higher effectiveness and better quality of life of every individual.
